Overview

This work is a part of the FP6 European Project called CHIL. This work investigates how collaborative technologies, in particular multi-user tabletop devices, can be employed in the rehabilitation of social and relational abilities of children with Autism and Asperger's syndrome.

The idea was to use the multi-user capabilities of MERL DiamondTouch and make a game for 2 person that requires tasks to be done collaboratively. A puzzle application was made after studying the above perspectives. In the starting a cartoon animation was shown to the children, which was suddenly stopped at a particular frame and then this frame breaks into puzzle pieces. To see rest of the video the child has to first play the game and finish it.

The movement of piece was only allowed if both the users put their finger on the piece. Also it was made mandatory that they both leave the piece together into the desired place.
